X-ray (Radiography)

Medical radiography is the use of X-rays to help identify disease or injury inside the human body. X-rays are a type of electromagnetic radiation that can pass through some solids and liquids.

What to Expect

On Arrival

You’ll be greeted by one of our friendly technologists.
Depending on what needs to be x-rayed, you may be asked to change into a gown.
You will then be walked into the X-ray room, where you will be asked to stnad, sit or lay on a table, depending on what area of your body is being examined. Pillows, sandbags or othe special devices may be used to help you hold the position.

During the Procedure

The technologist will capture the required x-ray images and at times provide some directions, like holding still and holding your breath for brief moments to ensure clear images.
At all times, you will be able to talk to the technologist, who is focused on your comfort and safety.
The technologist will review the images for quality before you are released from the X-ray room.

After the Procedure

You may resume normal activities immediately after the exam.
